PIRATES' SGB Premiership opener at Wolverhampton on Monday, March 26 has been postponed.
The Monmore club have pushed their press and practice back a week to that date in the wake of snowfall this weekend.
Wolves co-promoter Chris Van Straaten told the club website: “I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to (Poole boss) Matt Ford for his understanding in allowing us to postpone the fixture.
“We will work together to rearrange on a suitable date for both sides later in the season."
Pirates are due to race as a team for the first time this year in Good Friday's Knockout Cup double header against Somerset.
The Wimborne Road club's press and practice is set to take place on Wednesday.
Poole's 70th anniversary meeting – an individual event – is inked in for Friday with the likes of Matej Zagar, Peter Kildemand and Kenneth Bjerre booked to race.
Ford told the Daily Echo: "We've tried to keep prices as reasonable as we can and it's £20 for adults. When we had our big meeting for the 60th anniversary, it was more to get in.
"With it being 10 years later and £5 cheaper, I hope that shows we are doing our best to draw a crowd and celebrate what should be a great night of speedway."
