NEIL Middleditch believes the linguistic prowess of Kacper Woryna and Mateusz Szczepaniak will benefit Pirates in the upcoming season.

The Polish pair speak excellent English and team boss Middleditch reckons getting messages across in the pits will not prove a problem.

He told the Daily Echo: "Kacper and Mateusz both speak English which will certainly be useful.

"That said, it's nice during a meeting to chat to someone in your native tongue. It makes things easier so that will help them.

"You want riders who are going to better themselves and Kacper and Mateusz are looking forward to coming over.

"Mateusz was injured when he was last here and he is hoping to making amends – not that it was his fault of course.

"His bikes are going to be done at my place and I know he's very excited to be back at the Pirates."

Reflecting on chief Matt Ford's team building, Middleditch added: "With the Polish lads alongside Josh Grajczonek, Brady Kurtz and Chris Holder, we have a good mix.

"A good team is built on getting riders who can improve their averages and Matt has signed riders who can do just that.

"The final pieces of the jigsaw should come together in the next few weeks and then we'll know what we are looking at."
