BEMUSED Matt Ford denied rumours a deal had been done for Kacper Woryna to race for Pirates in 2018.

Since last week, Woryna has been listed as a confirmed member of Poole's line-up on British speedway's official website, prompting speculation among fans.

But the Polish racer, who joined Pirates on a full transfer from Coventry in August, is far from guaranteed a team spot at Wimborne Road next year.

Ford told the Daily Echo: "I don't know where that has come from because I can confirm Kacper and I have yet to speak about a contract for 2018.

"While we signed him as an asset and had every intention of using him next year, I can assure people nothing is secured.

"I will be catching up with him in the second week of December but at this point, someone is jumping the gun."

Rybnik-born Woryna finished fourth in this year's World Under-21 Championship, one spot above Brady Kurtz who is set to begin next season as Poole's number one.

Woryna will be available on a bargain 4.65 average, nearly three and a half points fewer than the Australian star.

Meanwhile, Ford has confirmed no British riders need to be included in SGB Premiership septets.

A rule requiring a minimum of two Brits per team had been in place but that was axed by promoters at the recent AGM.
