BRADY Kurtz admitted Pirates had fallen short in the first leg of their play-off semi-final with Swindon but insisted: "Everyone is giving 100 per cent."

Poole were outmuscled 46-44 by the visiting Robins on Monday and now face an uphill task to keep alive their hopes of SGB Premiership silverware.

Kurtz impressed as he racked up 10 paid 11 points racing against the likes of Grand Prix star Jason Doyle, Tobiasz Musielak and Nick Morris.

Reflecting on the meeting, the former Australian champion told the Daily Echo: "I think a lot of people don't see how hard the boys are trying in the pits, everyone is giving 100 per cent to the job.

"It's the play-offs and it's never going to be easy. Swindon are the best team and they picked us because they thought they could do well here and they did.

"A few more points would have been good but we didn't really get there.

"A lot of the time you need to make your own luck and it just didn't happen for us, which was a bit of a shame.

"But if they scored that many points here, there's no reason we couldn't do the same at Swindon."
