MATT Ford has revealed hopes of completing Pirates' third permanent transfer this year.

The ambitious promoter has already beefed up the Dorset club's asset base courtesy of the signings of Danish star Nicolai Klindt and Polish prospect Kacper Woryna.

And ahead of Pirates' SGB Premiership play-off clash with Swindon on Monday, Ford has one eye on next year's campaign.

He has held talks with a mystery rider over a switch to the south coast and is hopeful of soon concluding a deal.

Ford told the Daily Echo: "The club is in negotiations to buy another rider.

"I want to make sure we get it right for the future and that's the reason we are looking at signing our third rider of the year.

"We are looking at next year's team."

Pirates announced the full transfer of Klindt in May but the 28-year-old's season was subsequently wrecked by a serious knee injury.

Woryna, whose father Antoni was also a Poole rider, was unveiled last month and was tipped by Ford to emulate Maciej Janowski.
