PIRATES ace Jack Holder admits he is pleased by his progress in his first season in the British top flight.

The 21-year-old Aussie has been in fine form for Poole since mid-May and has proved one of the club's top performers in a tough campaign.

Holder told the Daily Echo: "I started off pretty slow here, which I expected. It's a tough track to get round and everyone has done a million laps here and I've only done a few.

"I knew it was going to be tough coming here, starting at number two with an average which was pretty high.

"But I've got it pretty sussed at the moment so I'm happy with how it's going."
