ROOKIE reserve James Shanes is looking forward to his British television debut when the BT Sport cameras come to Wimborne Road.
Pirates' fixture with Belle Vue tonight will be the first SGB Premiership meeting of the season to be broadcast by BT, who have taken the mantle of top-flight coverage from Sky.
And Shanes told the Daily Echo: "I was on 'Blood, Sweat and Gears' a few years ago for grass track and I've been on German TV before with the long track.
"But this time it's different as I know the people who are going to be watching."
Poole promoter Matt Ford added: "It is important that we do our utmost to support the live events.
"We are trying to encourage people to move across to BT – that is effectively our job now.
"The figures previously were very encouraging and now we need to have the same type of success with BT."
