NICOLAI Klindt is available for Pirates' clash with Swindon on Monday after making an unlikely last-minute swap.

The Danish Motor Union had originally selected Klindt to race in a Speedway European Championship qualifier in Nagyhalasz, Hungary on that date but the 28-year-old was able to juggle his commitments.

It was agreed Klindt would swap venues with compatriot Rasmus Jensen, leaving the Poole reserve to compete in the semi-final at Lamothe-Landerron, France a week tomorrow, freeing him up to race against the Robins.

Klindt told the Daily Echo: "I pulled out of my GP qualifier so I could help out Matt (Ford, promoter). Poole is really important for me as it's the only club where I'm sort of guaranteed a team place."

There had been fears Hans Andersen would also be unavailable for the Swindon meeting due to SEC commitments but the Pirates skipper was instead selected for a Grand Prix quarter-final qualifier at Abensberg, Germany on Monday, June 5.

The Poole and Swindon camps had discussed rescheduling the bank holiday clash but in the end, a shift was not required.

The DMU nominated riders for GP and SEC qualifying after a pre-qualifying meeting at Slangerup was abandoned due to track conditions.

Meanwhile, Krzysztof Kasprzak's hopes of making a full-time return to the world championship circuit next year are over after he failed to receive a wild card from the Polish Motor Union.

The former world number two finished 12th in the Polish Golden Helmet final – an event which helps to determine the country's representatives in GP and SEC qualifying.

And with a wild card not forthcoming, Kasprzak will focus on his SEC campaign. The 32-year-old rubber-stamped his spot in the event proper by virtue of earning the bronze medal last season.

Elsewhere, Poole-born charger Kyle Newman is tomorrow set to make his comeback from shoulder injuries when Ipswich travel to Berwick in the Championship.

Newman, who is expected to take his place in the Pirates one-to-seven once he has proved his fitness and form, is due to ride in the first British semi-final at Newcastle on Sunday.
