PIRATES asset Chris Holder has been unveiled by King's Lynn as a member of their 2017 septet.

As exclusively revealed by the Daily Echo last week, Poole promoter Matt Ford granted the Stars permission to speak to the Sydneysider.

Ford had previously ruled former world champion Holder out of his plans due to the 29-year-old's weighty 12.53 average.

Holder, who has ridden for Pirates in every season since 2008, has never represented another club in the British top flight.

“I’m really excited about the whole thing,” he said.

“With the Poole thing not working out, it’s good to get an opportunity to keep racing in England.

“I think the fresh start could be pretty good for me. The new rules went against me at Poole but I’m looking forward to riding for King’s Lynn and want to make sure it’s a good year.”

Holder was unveiled at a fans' forum at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Poole have one rider left to name for next year's SGB Premiership campaign.

Troy Batchelor would have fitted in the team and Ford had first option on the Peterborough asset but elected not to take that route.

Former Grand Prix star Batchelor subsequently signed for King's Lynn.

Polish charger Kacper Gomolski and Australian champion Brady Kurtz are widely viewed by Poole fans as the front-runners for the final team place.

Pirates 2017: Krzysztof Kasprzak 11.07, Hans Andersen 10.01, Jack Holder 7.16, Nicolai Klindt 5.42, Kyle Newman 6.31, James Shanes 2.00.
