GRAND Prix stars Emil Sayfutdinov, Maciej Janowski, Jason Doyle and Chris Holder will head a stellar field at the Darcy Ward Invitational in March.

The meeting at Poole will raise funds for the Darcy Ward Foundation, set up following the accident which left the Queenslander with serious spinal damage in August last year.

Acting as a curtain-raiser for the 2017 campaign, a number of other Aussies will ride alongside Holder and Doyle. Inked in to race are Nick Morris, Troy Batchelor, Rory Schlein, Josh Grajczonek, Jack Holder, Brady Kurtz and Todd Kurtz.

The meeting is due to take place on Friday, March 24 with Ward set to announce further names in the coming months.

The 24-year-old, who had been widely touted as a future world champion, was forced to retire from the shale sport after suffering horrifying injuries in a racing crash in Poland.

A fundraising invitational for the 24-year-old was held at Wimborne Road little over a month later with some of the world's top stars turning out for the contest between Team Magic and Team Monster.

Since his accident, Ward has been undergoing rehabilitation at Making Strides in Queensland. He visited Wimborne Road for Poole's clash with Wolverhampton in August and held a question-and-answer session afterwards.
