PIRATES followers will again have the chance to see Kacper Gomolski grace Wimborne Road as he takes his place in the Blue Riband.

Gomolski, a member of Poole's 2015 Elite League championship-winning team, will be part of a star-studded line up in the event on Friday.

The popular Pole produced the race victory to clinch Pirates' third title in a row and is certain to receive a rousing reception from the Poole crowd.

Gomolski has already put pen to paper on a contract for 2017 having agreed terms in Sweden with Elitserien runners-up Dackarna.

But the 23-year-old will also be well aware Pirates promoter Matt Ford will be casting an eye over hopefuls for Poole's 2017 line up.

Ford told the Pirates website: "I have a relatively clean sheet of paper as far as the team construction plans are concerned for next year and, apart from a couple of riders from this year's team, I am keeping my options open at this stage.

"Friday's Blue Riband could sway my judgement depending on what we see on show. I am sure there will be a number of riders going out to impress and that all bodes well for a good, competitive and exciting meeting."

Gomolski will join a host of other riders including, Troy Batchelor, Krzysztof Buczkowski, Adam Ellis, Chris Harris, Frederik Jakobsen, Marcin Nowak, Nick Morris, Kyle Newman, Scott Nicholls, Bjarne Pedersen (if fit), Adam Skornicki, Szymon Wozniak and Grzegorz Zengota.

Admission prices for the prestigious Blue Riband have been set at £20 for adults, £17 for OAPs, £8 for youths and £5 for children.

A family ticket, comprising two adults and two children, is £45, while under-fives are free.
