KYLE Newman and Chris Holder are due to represent Pirates in Saturday's Elite League Riders' Championship at Coventry.

Newman, who will be competing in the prestigious meeting for the first time, starred in the second leg of the play-off semi-final defeat to Wolverhampton.

The Poole-born charger totalled 14 paid 15 at Monmore Green and will be aiming to shake up the established order at Brandon.

Grand Prix stars Niels-Kristian Iversen, Freddie Lindgren and Chris Harris will also be in action. They are set to be joined by Team GB internationals Robert Lambert, Danny King and Craig Cook and seven-time British champion Scott Nicholls.

British Speedway Promoters' Association chairman Buster Chapman is anticipating a thrilling meeting.

He said: “It’s a very good line-up for what is still a very prestigious title and I am very much looking forward to it.

“We have a good combination of top Grand Prix riders and some very popular club riders, who I’m sure will put on a good show for the supporters.

“I’m sure it will be a super night and as the final major event of the Elite League season, I’d urge everyone to come along and support it.”

Line-up: Nick Morris, Chris Harris, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Chris Holder, Scott Nicholls, Kyle Newman, Craig Cook, Sam Masters, Danny King), Kim Nilsson, Patrick Hougaard, Edward Kennett, Rohan Tungate, Robert Lambert, Freddie Lindgren, Paul Starke.
