CHRIS Holder has set his sights on a world championship medal and has warned Tai Woffinden he will step up his chase in Torun.

Pirates star Holder is nine points behind two-time winner Woffinden heading into the penultimate round on Saturday.

And Aussie charger Holder, who rides for Torun in Polish league racing, says home advantage should help his cause.

Holder told the Daily Echo: "First and second seem pretty sewn up so Woffy is probably the only one who is reachable in third place.

"That's all I can really hope for now. It's nine points between me and him so that's do-able but he's going really well so it's really tough to take a lot of points back.

"I've had a really good season at Torun and know the track inside out so there couldn't be a better place to go to peg back some points.

"I'm happy I've been on the pace and made a lot of finals this year so that's definitely a step forward."

Recent Poole recruit Antonio Lindback is hopeful of racing in Torun following stomach problems.
