DANISH charger Hans Andersen reckons Pirates’ title challenge is slipping under the radar.

Poole are currently fourth in the standings but remain very much in the hunt to secure an unprecedented fourth straight Elite League crown.

And former Grand Prix ace Andersen insisted he had full confidence in the Pirates septet.

He told the Daily Echo: “I’ve got plenty of belief in the team and I think everyone here has.

“It’s good that people don’t see us as favourites at the moment. We can just enjoy what we’re doing.

“We are pretty realistic and we know how strong our team is.”

Meanwhile, Andersen mustered eight points in last week’s Danish final at Holsted.

The former Coventry and Swindon man was excluded from his first outing and went on to bank two wins and two third places.

Andersen’s club-mate Bjarne Pedersen fared slightly better as he totalled 10 points from his qualifying rides, including one race win.

However, he was edged out for a spot in the final by Nicolai Klindt, who finished on the same total.

In a star-studded closing showdown, Niels-Kristian Iversen took the chequered flag with Kenneth Bjerre second and Nicki Pedersen third.
