PIRATES ace Krzysztof Buczkowski is set to ride in the Speedway Grand Prix quarter-finals after earning a reprieve.
The Peterborough loan star finished seventh in Monday’s curtailed Polish Golden Helmet final at Tarnow, which determined Poland’s riders for the SGP and Speedway European Championship preliminaries.
Buczkowski, who turns 30 on Saturday, will compete in qualifiers despite failing to fulfil the criteria for automatic selection to both events.
The Wimborne Road charger will ride in an SGP qualifier at Terenzano, Italy on Saturday, May 7, the same day Hans Andersen and Brady Kurtz lock horns at King’s Lynn.
Buczkowski will also compete in the fourth SEC semi-final at Zarnovica, Slovakia on Sunday, May 15.
