PIRATES will have to contend with seven-time British champion Scott Nicholls when they travel to King's Lynn in the Elite League tomorrow.
The Belle Vue charger has been drafted in by the Stars as cover for the injured Rory Schlein.
Aussie star Schlein suffered a shoulder injury and concussion in a spill involving Coventry's Kacper Woryna a fortnight ago.
Speaking to the Stars website, promoter Keith Chapman said: "Scotty is a much better option than rider replacement and he will give us a better chance of winning the meeting.
"We've worked hard for our points recently and, hopefully, we can keep that going on Wednesday in what could be one of the meetings of the season."
Meanwhile, Pirates star Krzysztof Buczkowski was in top form for Grudziadz in the Polish top tier on Sunday. He totalled 12 paid 13 in the 47-43 home victory over Wroclaw.
Poole reserve Kyle Newman amassed seven paid nine for Plymouth in the Devils' Premier League opener – a 50-43 defeat at Scunthorpe.
Adam Ellis continued his stunning form with hauls of 14 and 15, respectively, for Eastbourne in their National League Knockout Cup aggregate win over Mildenhall.
