RESERVE Adam Ellis admits he is swiftly warming to the Wimborne Road track after making the winter move to Pirates.
The 20-year-old followed up a seven-point haul against Coventry in the Elite Shield first leg with his first paid maximum in the Elite League against Swindon on Good Friday.
The former Lakeside man has been delighted by his start to life in Poole colours and will hope to continue his hot streak on Dorset shale when Pirates host the Hammers on Wednesday, April 6.
Ellis told the Daily Echo: “I’ve always enjoyed riding bigger tracks more so I’m happy to be at a club where there is a big track, a great team spirit and everyone is really helpful."
Yesterday's return clash with Swindon at the Abbey Stadium was postponed.
An early decision was taken to call off the fixture due to a wet track and the threat of further rain. Any tickets purchased in advance will be refunded.
The meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 14, the same night that Ellis is due to contest the British under-21 final.
Pirates have no fixture this week as the trip to Belle Vue – originally scheduled to take place in front of the Sky cameras on Wednesday – has been postponed.
