PIRATES asset Josh Grajczonek will return to Swindon for the 2016 campaign.

Grajczonek joins Australian compatriots Jason Doyle and Justin Sedgmen, plus reserve duo Charles Wright and Stefan Nielsen, as the fifth member of Alun Rossiter’s team.

The 25-year-old, who rode four meetings for Poole as a guest last season, had a brief spell at Blunsdon in 2011.

Grajczonek said: “I love riding at Swindon. I've had a fair few good results there in the past, as well as racing for the club a few years ago before my season got cut short by a broken femur.

“Rosco and I were talking when he was weighing up his options, so when the phone rang a week or so later to offer me a place I was pretty happy!”

Grajczonek had two fruitful years at Wimborne Road and was ever present as Pirates topped the Elite League in 2013 and 2014.

Initially left out of their plans for 2015, Grajczonek was drafted in as a temporary replacement for injured fellow Australian Davey Watt during the early part of the season.

The popular Queenslander was signed as cover after Watt had suffered a broken left foot and damaged ankle ligaments in a pairs meeting at Polish club Krakow in March.
