PATRYK Dudek – the 2013 world under-21 champion – will take his place in an all-star line-up when a fundraising meeting for Darcy Ward is held at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.

In a clash billed as 'Magic v The Monster', Dudek will line up in the septet of Pirates skipper Maciej Janowski, joining Shamek Pawlicki, Andreas Jonsson, Josh Grajczonek, Davey Watt and Dakota North.

They will take on a Monster Energy side led by Chris Holder which will include Greg Hancock, Bjarne Pedersen, Troy Batchelor, Nick Morris, Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder.

Speaking to the Pirates website, Ford said: "This is a fantastic way to bring our season to a close. In truth I wish that we weren't in the position of having to raise money for a rider but we all know what a cruel sport speedway can be.

"Earlier this week we completed our third Elite league title in a row and dedicated that victory to Darcy, and whilst I know he was full of pride over that dedication and that it will encourage him mentally as he continues to make slow progress, there are bigger matters to attend to.

"He is receiving the very best in care and treatment but that comes at a price and I really hope that through this meeting we can boost the fund and take away a lot of the worry that he and his family will no doubt have."

Pirates are set to underwrite the staging costs of the meeting so that every penny raised can go towards the treatment of Ward.

Admission prices will be £20 for adults and £17 for concessions. Tariffs for children are set to remain at standard levels.
