CHERRIES chairman Jeff Mostyn says the “thoughts and hearts” of the club are with injured Poole Pirates asset Darcy Ward following his injury in Poland.
The world of speedway was rocked when the 23-year-old Ward suffered spinal injuries in a crash while riding for Zielona Gora on Sunday.
And Mostyn revealed the concern over Ward’s condition had stretched beyond the boundaries of the shale sport.
Mostyn told the Daily Echo: “On behalf of everybody at AFC Bournemouth, our thoughts and hearts go out to Darcy Ward and his family.
“It is always tragic when anyone suffers such a bad injury and when it is somebody who is local and so dear to the conurbation, it means an awful lot to us to see him get better as quickly as possible.
“We send our sincere good wishes to Darcy, his family and to everybody at Poole Speedway.”
