POOLE Pirates number one Chris Holder will be looking to put a spanner in the works for Great Britain in tomorrow’s Speedway World Cup showdown at King’s Lynn (7.30pm).
Holder captains a four-man Australia side against the UK, Latvia and USA.
There is just one place available in the final in Denmark on Saturday with the second and third-placed teams facing a race-off against Poland and Russia on Thursday.
The Poles, captained by Poole skipper Maciej Janowski, were surprisingly beaten by Sweden on home shale on Saturday, a meeting which saw Jarek Hampel sustain a broken leg. Ex-Pirate Przemek Pawlicki and Janowski racked up 13 points apiece.
Britain’s team comprises Chris Harris, Tai Woffinden, Danny King and teen sensation Robert Lambert.
