THE world governing body of motorcycle racing has lifted the lid on the circumstances behind Darcy Ward’s 10-month ban – by publishing a detailed account of the disciplinary process.
The Poole Pirates asset had been handed the ban in February following his failed alcohol test at the Latvian Grand Prix in August last year.
Ward will be eligible to ride on June 28, 2015 as he had served a provisional suspension from August until February, which effectively counted towards his 10-month ban.
The 17-page document, published on the website of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme and titled ‘Decision of the FIM Disciplinary Court (CDI)’, covers in great detail the circumstances surrounding the test and the ensuing disciplinary process.
The document can be read via this link.
