DARCY Ward has continued to prepare for the upcoming speedway season despite still not knowing his fate.

The Poole Pirates asset, who failed an alcohol test at the Latvian Grand Prix in August, is awaiting the outcome of his International Disciplinary Court hearing.

The summit in Switzerland took place on Friday, January 30 with Ward understood to have been told he would receive a definitive verdict last week.

However, the future of the two-time world under-21 champion is still in the balance.

Ward tweeted: “Done my bikes list ready to order. Tho [sic] still waiting for what we are all waiting for. Just hope I can put that bike order through.

“Nothing else to do but reflect on some amazing years. Hope for many more.”

The Queenslander today confirmed he had received no news ahead of his scheduled trip to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea take on Everton.

Ward, 22, could receive a maximum two-year ban.

Pirates team manager Neil Middleditch stated earlier this week that the Wimborne Road talisman could take a two-year break from speedway – depending on his hearing result.

The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) said in a statement released at the time of the incident that Ward had exceeded the alcohol threshold of 0.10g/L as fixed under its anti-doping code.
