CHRIS Holder is set to undergo surgery in Australia after suffering a damaged wrist in practice for the third round of the Australian Solo Speedway Championship.
Holder has confirmed via social media that he will go under the knife in Melbourne tomorrow following the spill in Undera, Victoria.
Poole's potential number one for 2015 posted on Twitter: "On route to Melbourne for surgery tomorrow. Tough to accept these things but that's the way it goes. Just get it sorted out and move on."
The injury, which is in the same wrist Holder broke in a Danish Super League meeting last June, ends his hopes of defending his national title.
Heavy conditions resulted in the later cancellation of practice and Holder appeared unhappy at the state of the track after the incident.
He initially tweeted: "Looks like I've re injured the wrist from last year. will let ya's know more when I know more.
"Track was s***house! Cheers".
