EDWARD Kennett says he would be happy to fill in for Shamek Pawlicki while the Pirates star remains on the sidelines.

Pawlicki is out with a broken collarbone and even though Poole promoter Matt Ford expects a relatively swift return, Kennett says he will cover if necessary.

The Rye House number one has already guested twice for Pirates this season, scoring 10 points against Leicester at Wimborne Road in June and nine at Eastbourne in July.

He was due to make another appearance in the skull and crossbones against Eastbourne last month, only for the fixture to be postponed due to wet weather.

Kennett told the Daily Echo: “I really enjoy racing the Poole track and always love coming back here, so hopefully there will be a couple more guest bookings for me.

“When Matt gave me the call to ask if I could guest against Eastbourne in August I said ’yes’ straight away. It’s nice to know that he thinks well of me and wants me to ride for Poole.

“My best wishes go to Shamek and if I can help Poole out before he comes back then I am here to do the job.

“If asked to guest I would do my best for the team and the management and try and get as many points as possible.”
