PIRATES star Darcy Ward was unable to repeat his Danish Grand Prix win of last year in the equivalent 2014 round.
The Aussie charger last night squeaked into the semi-finals in PARKEN with eight points from five qualifying rides.
However, in the first semi-final, Ward was beaten into third place by surprise package Troy Batchelor and former Poole rider Greg Hancock.
Home rider Niels-Kristian Iversen claimed victory in the final.
Ward is now 13 points behind standings leader Hancock in sixth place.
