HEAD coach Will Croker insisted any new recruits wishing to join Bournemouth must have the correct mentality.
Lions finished second in South West Premier this season and were defeated 38-23 in their promotion play-off final at Guernsey Raiders.
And while the club’s director of rugby was eager to add more quality to bolster his ranks for next season, he said a new recruit’s character had to be up to scratch.
Croker told the Daily Echo: “We have a saying that good people make good rugby players.
“All the things that make a good person in life in terms of hard work, patience, tolerance, understanding and ambition all apply to rugby.
“It’s going to be important for me to try to add quality to the squad but they also have to buy in to the team ethos with the spirit and camaraderie.
“We have focus on a couple of guys and we are looking forward to announcing them. They are significant signings from way up the rugby tree.”
Croker is also expecting to have long-term injury absentees Adam Davies and Toby Kenneally available to him next season.
