ELLINGHAM & Ringwood completed their Dorset & Wilts Two South campaign with a 27-19 win over Dorchester at the Raymond Brown Memorial Ground.
Ellingham dominated the first 15 minutes, but it was Dorchester who took a 7-0 lead with a converted try from a counter-attack.
Ellingham flank forward Darren Kendal reduced the deficit to 7-5 when he scored a good try out wide but Dorchester scored a further converted try to give them a 14-5 lead at half-time.
Early in the second half, Ellingham’s promising young hooker Phil Cole went over for a try in the corner but Dorchester scored a further try to make it 19-10.
Ellingham fly-half Henry Benson scored a good try under the posts which scrum-half Aaron Barker converted.
After a further period of pressure, Barker kicked a penalty to put the home side in the lead for the first time.
Lock forward Ben Traynor scored a well-earned try late in the game to earn Ellingham a winning bonus point and Barker’s conversion denied Dorchester a losing point.
