WILL Searle bagged a pair of tries in Ellingham & Ringwood’s 26-14 defeat by Dorset & Wilts Three South rivals Poole.
Poole’s strong pack started well and the hosts established a 14-0 lead before Searle took an interception and scored under the posts with scrum-half Aaron Barker converting to make it 14-7 at the break.
Ellingham withstood some sustained pressure early in the second half but always looked dangerous on the counter-attack.
Eventually, Searle finished a good move with another try under the posts and Barker's conversion levelled the scores.
With the clash delicately-poised, Poole eventually edged ahead to score another converted try.
And they went further ahead with a try in the corner from the final play of the game, which earned them a bonus point and denied Ellingham a deserved losing bonus point.
