ERIN Inglis scored his first try for Swanage & Wareham as they booked a place in the Southern Counties final of the South West RFU Intermediate Cup.

His touchdown was sandwiched between tries from Matt Roberts and Rob Elford as Swans triumphed 27-10 against Bicester at Bestwall on Saturday.

Victory for Swans, who are currently second in Southern Counties South, set up a trip to Thatcham in the final on Saturday, February 25.

Thatcham, who are seventh in Southern Counties North – five positions behind second-placed Bicester – beat Marlow 30-17 in their semi-final.

Swans attacked from the off in their last-four clash with Bicester but only had a Phil Graves penalty to show for their first-half endeavours as the teams reached the break at 3-3.

Roberts went over for the first try of the contest early in the second half, with Graves adding the extras to make it 10-3.

And Swans forged further ahead when Inglis scored after a couple of phases following a line-out, with Graves again slotted over the conversion.

Hooker Elford rounded off a flowing move to score in the corner, with Steve Woolley converting as Swans established a commanding 24-3 lead.

Jake Warren's drop goal made it 27-3 before Bicester grabbed a consolation try through Francois Wiese, converted by Tom Miles who had kicked their earlier penalty.
