WILL Croker has told Bournemouth's misfiring players they will be dropped unless the results start coming.

Lions are one of the favourites for promotion back to National Two, but have opened their National Three South West account with back-to-back defeats at Salisbury and Bracknell.

Croker's charges are back on home turf tomorrow with Brixham the visitors to Chapel Gate (3pm) and Croker admitted complacency could have crept into some of his players' minds.

The Lions coach told the Echo: "I have standards which I expect from my players and a few have gotten a little complacent. They feel like they are good enough and their shirts are secure.

"We need to that squad mentality into them. If they are dropped, they take it with good grace, go off and work hard with the seconds. If they are picked for the first team, they wear the shirt with pride and work as hard as we need them to.

"We have the skill set and the players who can execute, but we need to be prepared not to accept mediocrity.

"Promotions don't just happen and although we might think we're one of the best teams in the league, nobody will be saying that now after the first two weeks. They'll think we're delusional. The past two weeks have not been good enough and we need to have a good long hard look at ourselves ahead of the Brixham game."

Croker's preparations for the clash against Bracknell last weekend were disrupted by the wedding of forward Luca Firetto, whose guests included veterans Alan Manning and Sam Hardcastle.

Croker added: "Last week we had all the guys at Luca Firetto's wedding. Luca has played more than 100 games, Alan Manning more than 300 and Sam Hardcastle more than 300. That's a lot of experience to bring back for Saturday."
