A QUINTET of Bournemouth Rugby Club players are in contention to turn out at Twickenham – the home of the English game.

Alex Sutherland, Joe Rees, Joe Tarrant, Ben Allman and Luke Chandler could feature for Hampshire against Staffordshire in the final of the County Shield on Sunday.

Full-back Sutherland kicked seven points in Hampshire's 23-15 semi-final victory over Warwickshire on Saturday.

He converted the tries of Wes Dugan and Wayne Dugan and kicked a penalty which restored the lead at 17-15 after Warwickshire had scored their second try.

A drop goal by Havant centre Joel Knight and a penalty from ex-Lions player Robbie Searle put the game beyond Warwickshire’s reach.

Former Bournemouth man Gavin Hart is unavailable for the final due to family commitments.

Hampshire secured their place in the last four having thrashed Dorset & Wiltshire 44-13 and whitewashed Berkshire 46-0.
