DORSET Dockers were put to the sword in Southern Counties South as Marlborough subjected their hosts to a second-half onslaught.

Dockers had been level at 10-10 at the break but Marlborough cranked up the pressure in the second period to triumph 53-18.

The Potterne Park side missed the chance to close the gap on sixth-placed Devizes as a result.

Edd Johnson's first-half try and a conversion and penalty from Tommy Keir put Dockers level at the interval.

But after the restart, Marlborough's possession and physicality proved too much and they roared to victory.

Replacement Jamie Coyne-Stacey managed a second try for Dockers, while Keir kicked a penalty.

Meanwhile, debutant Katy Walker scored two tries as Oakmeadians ladies earned a thrilling 22-20 win at Hornettes in National Challenge South West One.

The first half did not go according to plan for the visitors as they fell 10-0 behind.

But after the break they were much-improved and fly-half Claire Dorey got the ball rolling with Oaks' first try.

Back came Hornettes with another five-pointer of their own but two scores from Walker put the away side on the front foot.

Hornettes crossed once more to regain the lead but with the clock ticking down, Nat Jeffery steamed through three players to score Oaks' fourth try and secure the win.
