BOURNEMOUTH coach Will Croker has backed “gutted” Alex Everett-Bolter to quickly banish the hangover of his hamstring woe.

The right-wing was withdrawn during last Saturday’s home defeat to Exmouth and is expected to miss at least a fortnight for the Lions.

Croker told the Daily Echo: “Alex felt he was in good form having worked very hard to get his run in the team and was relishing it.

“He has been a bit of a yo-yo player for us. He came in from New Milton with lots of potential but lacked a bit of self belief to start with.

“We have worked on putting an arm round him to make him feel like a first-team regular and he has looked quite handy. The injury was a bit of a blow but he will come back strongly, he always does.

“We are quite lucky. In Anthony Fitch, Alex Sutherland, Wyn Roberts and Ben Stewart, we are blessed with some really talented back-three players so it shouldn’t weaken us.”

Luke Chandler comes in for tomorrow's trip to Weston-super-Mare-based Hornets (2.15pm), while John Peart returns in place of Matt Christopher, a decision Croker made based on form.

Sutherland, recently sidelined through concussion, is on the bench after a hat-trick for the seconds.
