BOURNEMOUTH front-row Joe Tarrant has been given another chance by London Irish – after being selected for their A League fixture against Saracens Storm.
Tarrant and Lions team-mate Grant Hancox had been pencilled in to play against Bristol United on Monday but missed out after contracted Exiles players became available.
However, Tarrant looks set to feature at Allianz Park this coming Monday (7pm), some 48 hours after travelling to Ivybridge with Bournemouth in National Three South West (2.30pm).
Lions boss Will Croker told the Daily Echo: “Joe has received the email and he’s playing. He’s incredibly excited and the game is at the Allianz so it will be a huge experience for him.
“London Irish have even asked if we could, potentially, look to manage his game time on Saturday. We have explained that our priority is Bournemouth and that we need to make sure we win the game.
“I think it can be managed but if not, he is still a young guy and will have two days of rest. I think he would get through Monday night’s game on adrenaline alone.”
Lions wing Wyn Roberts has made a swift recovery from a knee complaint while Anthony Fitch is fit following a hamstring problem. However, Matt Christopher is out with an eye injury.
