RYAN Hughes scored a debut try as Bournemouth edged out Chippenham 15-9.

The scores were level at half-time following penalties from Lions' Antony Fitch and the hosts' Sam Saunders.

A further kick from Saunders had the home side 6-3 in front before Bournemouth launched a late comeback.

Good work from Alex Everett-Bolter and Fitch allowed centre Luke Chandler to score under the posts and Fitch added the extras.

Hughes then pushed his way over for an unconverted try, before Saunders kicked a penalty at the death.

Lions: Hancox, Fitch, Higgins, Chandler, Roberts, Jeffes, Hardcastle, Osborne, Allman, Tarrant, Christopher, Warwick, Hennings, Cawley, Rees. Replacements: Everett-Bolter, Hughes, Treloar.

  • Lock Dan Collins was forced off with a shoulder injury as Swanage & Wareham suffered a 44-12 defeat at High Wycombe.

Hosts High Wycombe scored an early converted try in the South West One East clash before Collins withdrew after four minutes.

Two further penalties and a converted try increased to 20-0 the home team's lead and they crossed four times following the resumption.

Late on, Swans centre Matt Roberts burst through to score and visiting skipper John Sheldrake touched down soon after, with Will Slack converting.

Swans: Atkins, Young, Spencer, Roberts, Parry, Slack, Tomes, Sheldrake, Elford, Wyburgh (Audley, 46), Pilkington, Collins (Ayres, 4), Corsie, Ford, Jones.

The hosts were 28-0 in arrears before they got on the scoreboard through a Josh Butcher penalty, and were 35-3 down at the break.

After the restart, Es forwards Tim Linford and Jack White crossed the whitewash while Butcher added a conversion.

But Fordingbridge proved far too strong and the Es remained bottom of the Hampshire One table.

  • Wimborne won 18-15 at Bradford on Avon while Dorset Dockers drew 32-32 with hosts North Dorset.

Oakmeadians lost 23-19 to Swanage & Wareham II and East Dorset succumbed 52-5 at Salisbury II. But Lytchett Minster were 31-0 winners over North Dorset II.
