BOURNEMOUTH wrapped up their National Three South West campaign with a 59-14 romp against Oxford Harlequins.

Already safe from the drop, Lions ran in seven second-half tries at Chapel Gate as they put to the sword their relegated visitors.

The hosts got off to a positive start with Sam Hardcastle and Jack Hennings crossing inside 20 minutes.

But a converted try from Alan Purchase pulled it back to 12-7 at the break.

The teams exchanged converted scores after the restart through Hennings and Jonnie Miller, respectively, before Lions racked up six tries in the final 17 minutes.

Joe Gwyther started the landslide and player-coach Dan Connolly pitched in with a couple of converted scores to put Lions 45-14 up.

Adam Higgins and Wyn Roberts touched down and Scott Chislett completed the rout in the closing moments.

Despite the victory, Bournemouth remained ninth in the standings.
