SWANAGE & Wareham closed in on a century of league points as they hammered Bradford on Avon 57-0 on the visitors’ first trip to Bestwall.

The Southern Counties South leaders took to 20 wins out of 21 their league record with a regulation victory over the Wiltshire strugglers.

Swans started in typically strong style and flanker Will Corsie shrugged off three tackles before forcing his way over after just two minutes.

Soon after, Chris Tomes made a break down the blindside and fed Charlie Rowberry, who scored close to the posts. Charlie Parish added the extras.

Second-row Dan Collins got in on the act for a converted score and then full-back Callum Baird - making his final appearance before returning to New Zealand - touched down under the posts.

Despite their 26-point lead, Swans continued to attack with relish. Hooker Robert Elford stormed in from 40 metres and Parish converted the easy kick.

Fly-half Parish had enjoyed a profitable afternoon and just before the interval his break was rewarded when he touched down close to the posts, resulting in a 40-0 half-time lead.

The home side made several changes for the second period and three minutes after the restart, Tomes was shoved over for a converted try.

Bradford on Avon enjoyed better spells in the second half but could not find a way through and they were further put to the sword when Phil Graves passed for Baird to cross out wide.

The scoring slowed down after that but Swans did grab a further try in the closing moments, when a sweeping three-quarter move allowed wing Todd Stephens to touch down.

Elsewhere in the division, Wimborne were defeated 25-7 by fellow mid-table outfit Walcot.

Dorset Dockers won the Dorset & Wilts One South title with a game to spare having defeated Bournemouth II.
