FORMER Chapel Gate boss David Dunn says Bournemouth need to return to their former values if the club is to move forward.

Lions released director of rugby Crispin Cormack and head coach Paul Dunne last week and replacements are not due to be named until the end of the season.

Tim Collier, Dan Connolly and Craig White have taken charge of coaching in the interim.

Dunn, who presided over three promotions during more than a decade at Bournemouth and led Lions to the National Three South West title in 2012, said a “measured” stance had been taken.

He told the Daily Echo: “I think the club’s measured approach is a very sensible one.

“They had to do something and I think they are right in not making any hasty appointments.

“A period of stability is important and soon the right decisions can be made to move the club forward in future seasons.

“They need to get it back like it used to be, when there was a family atmosphere around the club.”

Now director of rugby at New Milton, Dunn added: “It’s very sad to see the demise of Bournemouth but the latest news is all positive.

“Tim and Dan are very passionate and it comes as no surprise to me that the club have gone to Craig as well.

“People have been put in place who care about the club and I think that can only help to move it forward.”
