WIMBORNE returned to winning ways at Leigh Park with a 15-try demolition of plucky Southern Counties South rivals Supermarine.

They never looked back after taking an early lead when Ben Hunt cut inside the defensive line and scored by the posts for Will Tarbard to convert.

Supermarine then put the Minstermen under pressure and camped deep in home territory before a fine relieving kick from Ricky Hempstead cleared the lines.

Gavin Maltman, making his seasonal reappearance, came into the line from full-back and dived over, although his score was not converted and neither was one by Steve King.

The bonus point was secured on the half-hour when Liam Long danced through some despairing tackles to score.

Straight from the kick-off, another try was scored as the ball was returned and, after a series of phases, Maltman notched his second.

In added time, Rob Best scored in the corner following a move from a scrum at halfway but was injured in the process causing him to be replaced. This gave Wimborne a 32-point lead.

Tries came steadily throughout a one-sided second half with Ed Carter registering his first for the senior team following a forward drive.

Declan Foley scored the next when he finished off a move which started inside the Wimborne 22 before Long added another, with both converted by Tarbard, as were the next two from Steve King.

Carter and Long continued the try fest before right-winger Jack Young showed pace and strength to complete the scoring with a double against an outclassed Supermarine side which stuck to its task until the final whistle.
