FORWARDS coach Butch Carrel is adamant that Bournemouth have enough experienced heads to guide the club’s new players.

Lions have experienced a huge turnover in playing staff following relegation last season and suffered a 46-13 opening-day defeat at Oxford Harlequins in National Three South West.

Bournemouth have an immedi-ate chance to bounce back at home to Redingensians tomorrow (2.30pm) and Carrel has backed the Chapel Gate outfit to come good.

He told the Daily Echo: “We know it’s going to be a challenge.

“A lot of the boys were playing their first game for Bournemouth last week and it’s going to take us time to gel.

“But the boys are made of stern stuff. We’ve got players like Alan Manning, Jack Hennings and Sam Hardcastle who have been there, done it and got the t-shirt, so we’ll be fine.

“We just need to get our heads down and get people working hard together and results will come in the near future.”

On tomorrow’s opponents, Carrel added: “For the past few years Redingensians have had a big squad in addition to a good catchment area and we expect them to be a strong outfit.”

Lions: (from) Morgan, Palmer, Meaden, Dennett, Hatch, Hardcastle, Firetto, Lynch, Manning, Warwick, Scott, Benson-King, Rees, Hennings, Graesser, Jeffes, Smith.

Elsewhere tomorrow, Wim-borne open their Southern Counties South campaign with a trip to Corsham while Swanage & Wareham host Dorchester.

In Dorset & Wilts One South, Dorset Dockers are at home to Frome II, Oakmeadians travel to Wimborne II and Lytchett Minster entertain Ivel Barbarians.
