BOURNEMOUTH’S new-look side will make their first competitive outing at Oxford Harlequins in National League Three South West tomorrow (3pm).
Lions, relegated last season following a disappointing campaign under Budge Pountney, are now under the charge of director of rugby Crispin Cormack, who was previously backs coach.
The Chapel Gate outfit underwent a significant period of upheaval over the summer with 14 new players registered, including former Henley Hawks wing Sam Grindley, ex-Brixham full-back and back-rower Sam Benjamin – all students at Bournemouth University.
However, the likes of record points scorer Dan Pollard, Tommy Booth, Frazer Wilford and Karim Lynch have departed.
Lions will hope to get off to a positive start against an Oxford side that ran in more than 1,000 points last term.
The winner of the 14-team division will earn promotion to National Two South and the runners-up will go into a play-off with their equivalents from National Three South East.
