Ellingham & Ringwood's disappointing end to the season continued when they lost 27-22 to Old Midwhitgiftians in London Three South West .

The home side's injury problems were compounded when prop-forward Fred Didden got injured in the warm-up, resulting in Lee McKeith being drafted in from the seconds.

McKeith made an immediate impact and crashed over for the opening try, while veteran fly-half Andy Weeks kicked two penalties in the first half but a pair of tries at the other end gave the visitors a 12-11 lead at the interval.

Charlie Cockram moved from centre to fly-half and scored a try and two conversions, but two further tries with one crucial conversion handed Old Midwhitgiftians a 24-22 lead going into the home straight.

Cockram's late penalty agonisingly passed wide of the post before the visitors added gloss on the scoreline at the death.

Jonathan Young, James Burry and Kieran Mitchell were among the tries as title-chasing Blandford won 29-15 at Swanage & Wareham II in Dorset & Wilts One South. Table-toppers Wimborne II maintained their one-point edge in the race for honours with a 60-10 win over Westbury.

In Dorset & Wilts Two South, Lytchett Minster trounced North Dorset III 121-0. Jack Baker (4), Chris Heeps (4), Lewis Mitchell (3), Fred Perry (2), Toby Cull, Daryl Cormack, Pete Wilkinson, Simon Keen and Mike Myers all scored tries. Mitchell kicked no fewer than 13 conversions.

Champions Dorset Dockers hold a 100 per cent winning record with one game to play after a comfortable 63-7 win at Frome. The Potterne Park outfit travel to North Dorset III for their final match on Saturday, April 12. Poole lost 17-14 at Ellingham & Ringwood II.
