The Sacramento Kings put an end to their four-game losing streak with a narrow 84-83 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Buddy Hield put the Kings on a good footing, scoring 17 points in the first two quarters. After the break, the 24-year-old struggled to keep the same momentum, but made up for it with a steal and a dunk with just 37 seconds left on the clock to snatch the lead.

De’Aaron Fox extended the lead to four points to see out the win despite a three-pointer from the Lakers’ Brook Lopez in the dying seconds.

Elsewhere, Dante Exum returned to form after injury, with 14 points, five assists and three rebounds in just 17 minutes for the Utah Jazz.

Away from home, Utah smashed the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-97 to move into sixth place in the Western Conference.

Donovan Mitchell continued his nine-game streak of scoring at least 20 points, putting 21 on the board, while Ricky Rubio added 23 points.

The Denver Nuggets’ Jamal Murray helped push his team to an overtime win against the Milwaukee Bucks, who fell apart at the end of regulation play and ultimately paid the price with a 128-125 loss.

Murray scored 27 points, with Nikola Jokic leading the Nuggets with 35 points and pushing the team to one game behind the Pelicans for the last play-off spot in the Western Conference. The Bucks now stand in eighth in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers extended their winning streak to 10 games with a 119-102 victory over Charlotte Hornets, and the San Antonio Spurs recorded a 100-83 win over Houston, despite the Rockets reaching 1,182 three-pointers this season – a new NBA record.

The Chicago Bulls overcame the Washington Wizards 13-94, the Indiana Pacers won 111-104 on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Detroit Pistons celebrated a 108-96 away victory against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder edged the New Orleans Pelicans 109-104, while Atlanta Hawks beat the Orlando Magic 94-88, the Cleveland Cavaliers overcame the Dallas Mavericks 98-87, the Golden State Warriors claimed a 117-107 victory over the Phoenix Suns and the Memphis Grizzlies were defeated 98-113 by the Portland Trail Blazers.
