On bank Holiday Monday my husband, daughter and I visited our son and his family who live near Bridport. We popped into Weymouth to buy new bicycles for our young grandchildren who have birthdays this month.
We thought it would be nice to go on to the disused railway walk near Asda.
Whilst walking along, a young man on a bike came from behind us without any warning and without slowing down.
None of us heard his approach.
He decided to try to cut past me and in doing so slammed into my arm.
He did not stop, in fact he shouted that it was my fault for taking up all of the walkway.
The consequence of that encounter is that I now have nerve damage to the arm and have needed cortisone injections.
This has significantly impeded on my work as a Pilates and gym instructor.
Please ask cyclists to take care along that pathway, to slow down, call out, or ring their bell.
We had two young children and two dogs with us, any one of those could have been hit too.
