Although our focus is very much on the Olympics, it would be great to put in a strong display at the Sail for Gold regatta in Weymouth next week.

Ideally, we would like to lay down a marker so we are looking to try to perform.

In two months, nobody is going to care who won Sail for Gold because it is all about the Games.

We want to make sure we look towards the Games – but it would also be good to make a mark here.

We are hoping to benefit from being around the rest of the British sailing team down here in Weymouth.

Our recent commitments included a team-building day and it was the first time the whole sailing team had been together since selection.

When everyone is sitting in the room, there is so much experience. A lot of people are former Olympians, former medallists or former double or triple gold medallists. It is amazing to have that wealth of knowledge and experience around us to draw from in these final weeks.

They are focused on their game but are always there to give advice and when we have big team meetings, they are the people that speak up.

It is great to have them around to talk to. It is reassuring to see what they are doing and knowing we are on the right path.

Hopefully, that can help us as we step up our preparations at Sail for Gold.
