VICTORY in Mauritius has paved the way for Dorset’s Kevin Spurgeon to make his American debut on the USPGA Seniors Tour next year.

The Ferndown professional sits proudly on top of the 2010 European Senior Tour order of merit after the first event, with top the top 12 playing in the USPGA tournament.
“There won’t be enough events from now until then for me to be overtaken,” explained Spurgeon, who tees up for the next European Senior Tour event in Brunei on March 5.
Spurgeon also qualifies for the Senior Open Championship played for the first time over the demanding Scottish links at Carnoustie from July 22-25.
Other new venues and countries include South Africa (Fancourt) and the Netherlands (The Hague) where Spurgeon spent six years of his childhood.
