Queens Park pals bow out of Forest finals

QUEENS Park duo Steve Sidney and Matt Doughty bowed out of this year’s Daily Mail Foursomes in the second round of the finals week at the Forest of Arden.

Sydney and Doughty, who won their first match at the 19th, lost 4 and 3 in the quarter-finals to the eventual winners Beacon Park.

The Liverpool pair went on to win the final 8 and 6.

Three-handicapper Sydney, who also reached last week’s Daily Echo Sunshine Challenge finals day at Remedy Oak, won the Daily Foursomes title at Royal Porthcawl in 1997.
