DORSET star Georgia Hall got off to a solid start with a round of 69 at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Four birdies and a solitary bogey meant the world number 31 carded three under par at Siam Country Club.

Opening with a birdie at the par-five first, the former Canford Kid followed up with a two at the short fourth hole.

A dropped shot at the ninth meant she reached the turn one under, before birdies on 15 and 18 without a blemish on the inward nine helped Hall move into the top 20.

The Wimborne-based professional closed her opening round in a tie for 16th, three shots off the early pace.

Thailand’s Moriya Jutanugarn, Australia’s Minjee Lee and Americans Lexi Thompson and Jessica Korda led the field.

Hall is set to partner Jennifer Song and Lydia Ko in her second round and is due to tee off at 3.50am tomorrow UK time.
