DORSET star Georgia Hall got her quest to land the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies' Open in Abu Dhabi off to a strong opening.

The Wimborne-based professional produced a blistering start at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, but eventually had to settle for a three under par 69 in her opening round.

Starting on the 10th, the 21-year-old put together a string of three birdies, at the 11th, 12th and 13th.

A bogey five at the par four 14th proved a stumbling block for the former Canford Kid, but Hall bounced back with birdies at the 16th and 17th holes.

Having carded a four under par 32 on her opening nine, Hall failed to find a birdie during the second half of the round.

A bogey five at the 402-yard par four seventh proved a slight hindrance, but Hall stuck to the task to card a positive opening round.

The score of 69 left the Dorset ace tied for 14th.

Former Oakmead College pupil Hall is currently three shots off the early lead, set by South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace.

Hall is set to begin her second round tomorrow (8.05am UK time) alongside playing partners Emily Kristine Pedersen and Rebecca Artis.
